Career Planning

A certified professional school counselor is on duty to assist all students with college and career planning. Gibson Technical Center provides extensive information about colleges, scholarships, careers and job requirements, and tests to help students determine their interests and abilities.

Counseling

A certified professional school counselor will assist students with educational, career, and personal concerns. Students may meet with the counselor during the enrollment process to select a program of study appropriate to their college and career goals, interests, and aptitudes. Students are encouraged to confer regularly with the counselor for assistance in educational and career planning as well as self-development.

Student Organizations

Student clubs in many of the career tech classes are part of the training for career tech students. One club that is available for membership is Skills USA (An organization for Industrial Technical Programs). Leadership skills are learned through this organization for later use in the business world. DECA is a student organization for Marketing students to help them develop leadership and social skills.
