Culinary Arts

Commercial food preparation is the nation’s leading industry with over $200 billion year in sales and growing at a steady pace. With more and more people in our work force, the average family finds themselves eating in restaurants more frequently than in years past. There are approximately eight million people employed in the food service industry. Foods specialists purchase, plan, prepare, and serve food to the families of America.

Want a Career in Culinary Arts?

The Culinary Arts program is a 2-year program for juniors and seniors in high school. It is designed to give the student a working knowledge of all phases of restaurant work and management.

The class is able to get hands-on experience by operating their own restaurant open to the public periodically during the week. Students who meet the requirements will intern in a local restaurant the last quarter of their second year.
